Lithica: After having been used to quarry sandstone, the Quarries of S’Hostal, a landscape of monumental proportions with a three-dimensional, sculptural beauty, have been redeveloped by Líthica and are today a very popular cultural centre. The two distinct methods of quarrying the sandstone have created two contrasting areas: The old manually-worked quarries form a labyrinth of stone and vegetation between inclined walls and irregular shapes where the s’Hostal gardens are being developed to include a botanical circuit lined with native plants and a medieval garden. The modern quarries are vast, impressive spaces dominated by precise vertically dressed walls forming a cubical amphitheatre where concerts are held in the summer.

Cala Sant Esteve is situated at 2,5 kilometres from Es Castell de Menorca, surrounded by the Port Malborough (built by the English between 1710 and 1716) and Castell de Sant Felip (very important in the 18th century for the defence of the Port de Maó), as well as located between Torre d’en Penjat (at 150 metres above the sea level, with conic structure, a tower of three levels and beautiful panoramic views) and Punta de Sant Carles, where there is Far de Maó and the access to the port with the same name. It is a big s-shaped sea inlet which goes toward west for a long distance, is the origin of this bathing area with no sand or rocks, with a steep slope (very near the coast it is already deep). There are lots of summer residences in the surroundings, as well as a large number of small boats anchored along the sinuous coastline.

Nature reserve La Gola is a small wetland area, but of great ornithological value thanks to the exceptional rich diversity of migrating birds visiting this area in spring and autumn, as well as the birds breeding in this area. La Gola is one of these magical places - a natural sanctuary in which the peace and the weightlessness of the birds unite and fill you with wonderful feelings.
